would you take reservations? We are bringing our grandson's to the NAC and would like dinner prior to the show at 8:00. thanks?
Whenever my husband and I are in Ottawa, we will always make time to come here! The atmosphere and staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is always tasty and so are the drinks! If you ever need a place to meet, D'Arcy McGee's is always worth the trip!
MoreFast, polite service. The staff person who greeted us at the door was funny!
Excellent food! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Service and atmosphere are great too.
MoreGreat place for a drink after work with the coworkers! It’s always buzzing in here with affordable options for food and drink.
MoreChose this place for dinner last night because of its proximity to the NAC. Great atmosphere and amazing service. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. Nachos were ok, nothing special. My burger patty was dry and bland and the Cesar salad was on the soggy side. My son liked his breakfast skillet. Great beer, too!Edit: Great follow up by this company. They clearly value customer satisfaction. I will definitely try it again!
MoreCool place Nice irish pub Lamb and sheperd pie are delicious
Always a great atmosphere with great food. Never a disappointment.
This place was recommended to us from friends and family who visit Ottawa often. We tried the Sheppards pie and the fish and chips. Both tasted delicious! The fish and chips was actually surprisingly good and the Sheppards pie was tasty. The restaurant itself was busy but given the location that was expected. It’s got a really unique vibe and I think it’s definitely worth a visit.
MoreAmazing food and service.I highly recommend the Pub’s Power Bowl for lunch 👌They also serve great local beers.
MoreLovely place for after work drinks. Great servers and friendly atmosphere.
I wish we had places like this on the West Coast. The historical ambiance, the server's ready reply for my Black and Tan request, and so many nuances made this the best glass of Lagavulin (or any scotch) I have ever had in my life. We were a little on the later side; arriving after the Xmas light up on Parliament Hill, so the Yorkshires were forgivingly on the tough side (not worthy of even a percentile of a deduction). Thank you D'Arcy McGee's and thank you to the SO MANY polite people of Ottawa for such a wonderful denouement to what would have been an otherwise boring "Work Trip".
MoreOur server had great recommendations and did some dietary substitutions for us, no problem. We've had her a couple of times and she's great!
MoreMy family and I went for New Year's Eve and it didn't disappoint. The ambiance was very good, there was live music provided by the Powergoats. Decorations were hung all over the place which provided the sense of a New Year's eve party. Swag was also provided, which is very cool for a restaurant in Ottawa. The bar went above and beyond in comparison to the vast majority of restaurants. We had for dinner various Irish Faves, and they were good. The bar even served small glasses of champagne, a very nice detail from them. This was my first time in this place, but definitely I would come back to have lunch or have some drinks. Highly recommended. Lastly, people working the New Year's eve shift had an amazing attitude!
MoreGreat atmosphere & lovely food. Serving size were large and delicious. Would definitely recommend the spinach dip!Mixed drinks were delicious & the waiter was well informed about the available options, which was nice. He was also very good at following up and remembered what we'd discussed. The prices were quite high though. Might be just because of the great location but everything was quite expensive. We'd go back, but probably just for special occasions; don't think it's a great choice for an "every weekend" kinda pub. Also great for tourists!
MoreWe stopped here while visiting Ottowa for the day and were not disappointed. Great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. My veggie burger was okay but nothing to write about.
MoreThis place has a great Pub vibe. overall it's quite pricey but the experience is great. The waiters and waitresses are very entertaining and fun. You have the option to sit at the bar or take a table and dine. I've tried both at the bar and out of table and my experience was equally as good. This is a great place to go for a drink if you're downtown especially if you're on foot.
MoreGreat wings and some quality IPA choices. It's a bit loud and gets busy, but great quality for the price.
MoreThis place is so legit awesome, I'd love to come back here on my next trip to Ottawa. The beer battered fish and chips were excellent and super filling. I somehow managed to finish two HUGE pieces of fish (there's no way I would ever leave a bite left tbh) and great beer to wash it down. Outside seating is really nice when it's not blistering hot out, and the waitress was very upbeat and friendly. Great atmosphere too!
MoreExcellent service and the food and drinks were amazing. Look forward to returning again.
MoreSome interesting menu items. Service is good. Often confusion settling bills. Food was very dry.
MoreFood was great! Service was perfect! There was also a live band playing. What a great experience! We loved this place.
MoreFish and chips were awesome. Nice vibe and great place to hangout with friends, family or even alone. Good place and awesome food.
MoreGreat spot! Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is spot on for a Irish pub. Will be heading back when in I’m back in town without question.
MoreD'arcy McGees has long been a favourite but this last visit wasn't up to previous high standards. The pie was smaller than before and its taste was average, although it must be said the staff were great as always. Hoping the previous generous and tasty portions make a comeback!
MoreThe lines from the keg fridge to the bar are hundreds of feet long. I know because I worked here (hi Jeff). Yum yum! lol
MoreNoisy and busy like a pub should be! We had drinks and a crisp snack. Waitress was great, always checking up on the customers. We will return.
MoreThis authentic Irish pub has it all: premium cocktails, beers on tap, excellent scotches, along with great pub food. I have tried fish 'n' chips in dozens of restaurants and Darcy McGee's serves the best. Super crispy battered cod with great fries, fresh-tasting mildly seasoned coleslaw, and a superb dill mayonnaise sauce for the fish (so much better than those dreadful garlicy tartar sauces in so many pubs). The chicken club was perfect, as were the selections on the children's menu. There is a busy seasonal terrace in summer. I love thus place.
MoreGreat Pub food and selection of beers. They've updated their Menu since my last visit. Friendly staff and great Irish pub atmosphere!
MoreDowntown, excellent atmosphere, price and service
Great environnement, excellent live music shows, super friendly staff. One of the best pubs in Ottawa, great for all ages.
MoreGreat food, friendly staff. Been here multiple times. Only drawback is there is very little street parking around the area and it's not disability/wheelchair friendly(stairs to go to the seating areas) but they do have a patio in the summer for which this is a non issue as long as you don't need the washrooms...lol
MoreLove this pub. Great atmosphere. Fantastic selection of beer.
I just stopped in with my mother for a quick bite and drink while waiting for our tour to start. we both agreed that the calamari we had was the best we'd both ever had. Amazing. Service was wonderful as well.
MoreMy coworker and I go here almost weekly as our after work wind down. Great atmosphere and super attentive staff, but not overbearing. Keep in mind around 4pm (weekday) it can be very busy, and hard to get a table.
MoreIt's a nice place in a convenient location downtown. Definitely has a lot of charm. Service was good, and so was the food. But nothing spectacular. Nice spot for a quick drink with friends, or a quick bite to eat.
MoreOne of the best restaurants that I have been to in Canada.
Great location near parliament hill, good selection of draft beer and food! Always a good place with friendly workers great place to pop in for a drink while downtown
MoreGreat food, great service, great location.
Great food and beer
I loved it. Very surprised by the great vegetarian and vegan choices. I had the waffle fries and Gardein chickn fingers and it was amazing. I will gladly return with friends.
MoreExcellent service. Even better food 👌
Good place to go for a pint. Located directly downtown, the area is lively with foot traffic and attractions. I didn't eat though my friends said she enjoys their food. I enjoy sitting around the bar but there is also ample table seating for those looking for more of a private experience.
MoreEvery time I go to this place, I am always well received. It's very reminiscent of the bars in Ireland, in fact, the furnishings were imported from Ireland. It's a lively place where you can enjoy a pint of Guinness, almost as good as in Dublin. The food is typical pub food, but they do have healthy choices like the goat's cheese salad, which I really enjoyed. Service is courteous, fast, and responsive.
MoreIt's a popular place near the parliament building. Great pub atmosphere with good food. I had the fish and chips and the price was reasonable.
MoreGreat location across from the War Memorial and in a historic building. The interior is well decorated with a traditional Irish theme. Food is ok. Has been slipping the past few years. Menu used to have some nice traditional Irish options that have been removed. Worthwhile going if in the area and looking for a pub atmosphere. But I wouldn’t make it a food destination. Those days when it was worth a trip for the food are behind it.
MoreI have been to this pub a few times and the service is always quick and staff extremely kind and professional.
MoreNice location. Came here with work colleagues for lunch. Was put in the basement with poor lightning and slow service. Drinks came and then a long wait for our food. Food and drinks were pretty standard pub fare although there were some interesting menu items like the lamb shanks. OK pub but nothing to write home about.
